More than 60 of Sanford Sheldon Medical Center’s dedicated volunteers attended Sanford Sheldon Volunteer Recognition Luncheon at the Sanborn Community Building. The guest speaker was Rev. Cindy Hoy, Director of Spiritual Care at Sanford USD Medical Center and an ordained pastor of the United Church of Christ.
The event was planned in conjunction with National Volunteer Recognition Week. In 2010, more than 150 of Sanford Sheldon’s dedicated volunteers donated more than 6,500 hours of service to Sanford Sheldon. These volunteers help in several areas of Sanford Sheldon including Senior Care, Hospice, clowning to patients and residents and the gift bar. The volunteers are dedicated, compassionate and eager to help as many people as they can. Rick Nordahl, CEO of Sanford Sheldon said, “We are pleased to honor our volunteers. They are very passionate about the work they do and have compassionate hearts. Our volunteers are truly dedicated to helping others."
